What it took
Rider positions stream over WebSockets instead of polling, so the map stays live without hammering the API.
Nearest-rider matching runs as a PostGIS spatial query with a GiST index, not a distance loop in Python.
Leaflet layers are split by concern — riders, routes, delivery zones — so each can update independently.
